Suburb Zero, the all electric suburb

Electrify one, electrify them all

Imagine this: every home in your suburb is electric.

What does that look like? Electrifying six key parts of your household.

From houses…

Electrifying 6 key parts of your home

  • Installing solar PV

  • Installing a solar battery

  • Replacing a gas heating system with an electric reverse-cycle air-conditioning system

  • Replacing a gas hot water heater with a heat pump water heater

  • Replacing a gas cooktop with an induction cooktop.

  • Acquiring a 2-year lease for an electric vehicle (EV) - including bike, scooter, motorbike - with an option to purchase at the end of the lease

500-1,000 electrified homes

A Suburb Zero pilot would include 500-1,000 households in a geographical area (but we’re open to all ideas!) that could apply for subsidies and/or concessional loans to electrify their home.

It would mean lower energy costs and zero emissions homes for the whole community.

Opt-in

This pilot program would be opt-in, focused on the parts of a home that still need to be electrified.
