Go Electric is an ACT Government piot program that will electrify six items in a Canberra suburb.

  1. Installing solar PV

  2. Installing a solar battery

  3. Replacing a gas heating system with an electric reverse-cycle air-conditioning system

  4. Replacing a gas hot water heater with a heat pump water heater

  5. Replacing a gas cooktop with an induction cooktop.

  6. Acquiring a 2-year lease for an electric vehicle (including bike, scooter, motorbike) with an option to purchase at the end of the lease.

Dwellers can apply for subsidies and/or concessional loans that will lower energy costs and zero emissions homes for the whole community.

Banks was chosen because it is located near the needed electrical infrastructure and includes a diverse income population.
